Jose O. Rivera was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Jose G. Rivera, 47, of Camden City, according to Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.
Jose O. Rivera is currently in custody on unrelated charges at the Camden County Correctional Facility, and he was charged with first-degree murder on Monday, Oct. 23, they said.
On Sunday, Oct. 15, 2023, at 12:46 p.m., Camden County Police responded to 7th Street and Bailey Street for a ShotSpotter activation. Officers arrived at the scene and located a male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was transported to Cooper University Hospital, and he was pronounced deceased at 12:58 p.m.
